All bookings for our Escape Rooms and outdoor City Trails are subject to the following Terms & Conditions. The information contained here is for general information purposes only. We reserve the right to amend or adapt these terms and conditions at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
Please note that if you are booking on behalf of others in your group, it is your responsibility to ensure that they are aware of and agree to these terms and have been provided with all the relevant information relating to the booking. Escape The Past will not be responsible if group members are unable to participate as a result of you failing to provide them with all the relevant information.
Bookings are non-refundable but the date of the booking can be amended via email, provided you make contact to request this at least 48 hours before the time of your scheduled booking. If you need to reschedule, please email: info@escapethepast.co.uk.
Bookings must be made online and in advance, no face to face or telephone booking is possible a this time.
Additional group members can be added to your booking by emaling: info@escapethepast.co.uk. It is not possible to remove group members from a booking that has already been made.
From time to time we may offer discounts and promotions. Discounts may require the presentation of valid ID (e.g. Student ID) upon arrival. Where this is not provided you may be refused entry or required to pay a supplement to the original value of the booking prior to discount.
In exceptional circumstances, we may need to cancel your booking. If we do so we will endeavour to contact you as soon as possible and provide a full refund or work to find a suitable alternative date.
Gift vouchers are for the value as stated and are only valid for bookings made directly via website (www.escapethepast.co.uk). All voucher redemptions are subject to availability at time of booking. Vouchers cannot be refunded or exchanged in any circumstance. Vouchers expire 12 months after the date of issue.
Only one voucher can be used per transaction, and vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount, promotional code or offer. Vouchers must be redeemed in a single transaction but can be supplemented with additional payment. In case of redemption against a booking of lesser value, no change will be given. Bookings made with vouchers are bound by the rest of our standard terms and conditions.
It is essential that all members of the group arrives 10 minutes before the scheduled booking. Doors will open 10 minutes before your booking is due to start and no earlier. Please note that in cases of late arrival, the time available for your group to participate will be reduced. Groups or group members arriving more than 15 minutes late will not be admitted.
Due to the macabre themes, 'The Anatomist' Escape Room is not recommended for those under 12 years while 'The Deacon's Cabinet' Escape Room is not recommended for those under 10. Our City Trails are not recommended for children under 8 years of age. These are guidelines rather than strict rules and the ultimate decision is at parental discretion.
All groups must contain at least one adult (over 18) who must be physically present and participate as part of the group.
Our Escape Rooms and City Trails each have a maximum capacity which will be clearly communicated at the time of booking. It is not possible to add additional group members beyond the room's maximum capacity.
Our City Trails require the use of a smartphone or tablet with internet connection via mobile data. At least one such device is required per group of 6 people.
Disabled access to our Escape Rooms is available by prior notice only. Please complete the relevant box during checkout, or email info@escapethepast.co.uk at least 48 hours in advance of your booking. While disabled access can generally be arranged, we regret that not all parts of the experience may be accessible to those with physical disabilities.
For each of our experiences, participants must be willing to sign a liability waver upon arrival and acknowledge that they agree to take part at their own risk. Some physical exertion may be required and some parts of the experience may not be suitable for those with specific medical conditons or who suffer from severe claustrophobia.
If anyone in your group is pregnant or suffering from any significant medical condition, please make the Games Master aware before the experience begins.

For the safety of all our visitors and staff, your group will not be admitted if any member is deemed to be visibly under the influence of alcohol upon arrival. Consumption of alcohol, food or drugs on the premises is strictly prohibited.
Smoking is not permitted either within or immediately outside our premises.
Participants must follow all instructions provided by their Gamesmaster at all times. We have zero tolerance for anti-social behaviour or any form of abuse directed towards our staff.
Failure to comply with any aspect of this policy will result in your group being asked to leave with no refund provided.
We will not be liable for unforeseen loss or damage of personal possessions on the premises. Our total liability to you, arising under or in connection with the booking, shall be limited to 100% of price paid under the booking.
