Is an escape room a good activity for a Christmas party?

Yes! An escape room is the perfect activity for a Christmas party.

Whether you're celebrating with colleagues, family or friends, they're the ideal way to engage everyone in your group with a fun activity that's sure to leave the whole team buzzing. Each Christmas, our Edinburgh escape rooms get a festive makeover with seasonal decor and sweet surprises adding a festive glow to your journey into Edinburgh’s  dark past!

What's the minimum & maximum group size for a Christmas booking?

Our indoor escape rooms are suitable for groups of 2-15 people at once. Our outdoor escape room 'City Trails' are suitable for groups of up to 30 people! For larger group bookings, you'll be split into smaller teams and will compete against other teams from your group, adding a degree of healthy competition!

Please note that as the experience is tailored to the size of the group, it's important to select the correct group size at the time of booking. Need to add more people, simply contact us.

If I buy a gift voucher, can it be used for a Christmas booking?

Yes! Our gift vouchers last for 12 months and are valid year-round so you can certainly use an existing voucher for a Christmas escape room booking. Looking for gift ideas for this Christmas? Give the gift of Edinburgh's dark past! We've a range of gift voucher options to suit every budget.

Can we wear our festive Christmas clothing?

Of course! From a Christmas jumper to a full-on santa costume - you're welcome to come dressed in festive clothes. For our city trails we recommend sturdy shoes and keeping an eye on the weather forecast so you can dress appropriately.

Is this suitable for all ages in our family?

Age suitability varies by experience so please check the escape room's page for more details. Our City Trails are recommended for adults and children aged 8+. Children under 8 can still come along as part of the group but as we suspect they won't get as much out of the experience, we let them play for free. Each group must contain at least one adult over the age of 18. If you'd like any more information on suitability feel free to contact us.

Can we take photos or videos during our Christmas party?

We ask you refrain from taking photos or videos during your escape room experience. There's plenty of time for group photos at the end and out team are more than happy to help with this. You're welcome to take photos and videos on your City Trail - don't forget to tag us! @escapethepast_edinburgh.
